Become a Certified Core Firearms Instructor

Our Core Firearms Instructor Training Program (CFITP) is designed to provide students with the basic principles and fundamentals of firearms handling, care, maintenance, and the other skills necessary to function as a firearms (pistol only) instructor. This program will also provide you a certificate, along with BCA approval, to teach our Permit To Carry program. This program also introduces the new instructors to teaching techniques as well as identifying and resolving shooting problems/errors.

Prerequisites
Applicant must have be an active law enforcement officer/agent or possess at least 5 years law enforcement experience (in good standing), or active military experience of at least 4 years with honorable discharge. Applicants approval will be determined by experience and formal interview.
Must be experienced in or possess the potential for presenting instructional material.
Must not have any medical restrictions.
You must demonstrate individual firearms proficiency by successfully completing a handgun skill assessment, scoring a minimum of 85% (255) on a standard course of fire during the first day of the program. (applicant will have 2 attempts if needed).
